I will tell you about the great painter of the 19th century Edgar Dega. He was born in July 19 1834 in Paris and was the eldest among five children in succeeding family. Edgar was the clever child, that’s why successfully but without special shine has finished school. Among school subjects he especially liked a history and Latin, however most of all he loved to draw. The interest to drawing in him was supported by his father, who always was interested by art, rather than by finance. By undertaking timid attempt to become the lawyer, Edgar has decided to pay more serious attention to painting. He a lot of time spent in Luvre, copying there works of the old foremen, and from 1856 till 1859 has made a trip to Italy, where he had a lot of relatives. In Italy Edgar has got acquainted with works of the great foremen of Renaissance epoch. After returning in Paris in 1859 he has opened his own workshop. Edgar was skilful to represent modern to him life with. He has written a number of portraits, on which the members of his family are represented. Also he wrote pictures on historical themes. His famous pictures were «Dancers in a bar “, “Absent”. Edgar had independent style in all his works. He has left more than 2000 pictures by oil, pastels and sculptures. Last years of life Еdgar Dega has remained in complete loneliness. His father has died, leaving him the debts and problems…
